About
Lady Milo is a contemporary painter based in Swinford, Co. Mayo. Born and raised in Silesia, Poland—a region shaped by cultural diversity and international influence—she moved to Ireland in 2007. Her studies in culture, including art history formed the foundation for her interest in subconscious processes and symbolic imagery.
In Ireland, she deepened this focus through training in shamanism and breathwork with facilitators from Ireland and the USA. She completed an oil painting course at Marino College in 2015 and returned fully to painting after settling in County Mayo in 2022. Her work has since been exhibited across Ireland and beyond.
About My Work
My practice explores the relationship between the natural and human worlds, the subconscious mind, and the conditioning of women. I investigate the complexity of modern gender roles, focusing on women who reject conservative male perspectives, marital identities, and internalised sexism.
Many of my works emerge intuitively—through gesture, instinct, and subconscious association—allowing domestic spaces and female relationships to unfold without predetermined narrative.
I work with oils, watercolours, and paper collage, and I am currently experimenting with kombucha SCOBY and other biomaterials to express the organic, intertwined, and unconventional ways women coexist and shape one another outside societal pressures.
